(Re)considering our First Learning Blogs

So... today's topic: Trying to figure out this genre of the learning blog.

I first went over the point breakdown for Unit 1, which is as follows:
  • Total: 110 points
  • Rubric #1: 10 points
  • Learning Blog #1: 25 points
  • Rubric/Analysis #2: 15 points
  • Learning Blog #2: 25 points
  • Article: 25 points
  • Participation: 10 points

Following this explanation, we did the first many activities called "In our own words." Some people had some really cool things to say in their learning blogs, so I wanted to give them a chance to share all of their thoughts. Keep in mind that this class is driven by public writing, so anything you write could be shared in class.

Some tips on how to create a more successful learning blog were also given. For instance, focus on yourself and your own learning, not simply the class or the class structure at large. While I don't mind evaluations of the class, I really want to see where you all stand in your learning. Now, that you have my feedback, you have until 7:59 am this Friday to repost your responses. I will grade this second entry, not the "first draft" version of it.

On Friday, you will have a work day, so bring article stuff to work on. Monday will be another peer review session when your rough drafts are due.
