Wednesday, February 22 Activity: "Breaking a Constraint" in a Sample Genre

For this in-class assignment, get into your Monday groups and choose one person's sample genre that each should have brought it. With this genre, first, come up with some "common" characteristics utilizing those five categories that we worked with on Monday:
  1. Language
  2. Content
  3. Other Design Elements
  4. Location
  5. Audience

Then, figure out one particular constraint that you could break, how you would do this, and how you think people may react to this slight change in that genre.

Finally, post all of this information on one person's blog and comment on this post to tell me whose blog it is on (and remember to include all of your group member's names on that blog entry). We'll take a few minutes in class following this exercise to share these examples. Remember, this is not the specific project you will be working on for unit 2 or your actual groups. However, these ideas could be potentially become something for this project!

Post a comment here telling me whose blog your assignment is on. Remember to include the names of your other group members in that blog post.
